Francis J. Doyle III, Ph.D. (NJ D ’85), started this week as the new dean of the Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Previously, he was a distinguished scholar in chemical engineering and associate dean for research at the University of California, Santa Barbara. The Missouri University of Science & Technology recently profiled the family of Mohammad AlKazimi, Ph.D., and Hanan Altabbakh, Ph.D. (MO B ’10), both of whom received graduate degrees in engineering at Missouri S&T. The family of six, including four children, is returning to Kuwait this summer where AlKazimi works for Kuwait Oil Co. Altabbakh earned both her master’s and Ph.D. in engineering management. Intelligent Manufacturing Systems (IMS) recently recognized its outgoing chair with an event in Mexico City. Robert G. Kiggans, SC G ’65, has served as chairman of the IMS board since 2012 and was cited for “always pushing for more research and higher visibility of the organization.” He also received an award from the International Steering Committee for dedicating many personal hours to IMS. The news announcement lists Mr. Kiggans many career accomplishments and includes an image from the event.
