The R.C. Matthews Outstanding Chapter Award for 2013-14 went to the Michigan Gamma Chapter, at the University of Michigan. This week the plaque arrived at Tau Beta Pi Headquarters and will soon be on its way to Ann Arbor, MI. Learn more about the award and past winners on the TBP website.

The New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) recently profiled alumna Virginia C. Sulzberger, NJ G ’62, as she will be inducted into the National Academy of Engineering in October of this year. Currently, Sulzberger is a consultant at Electric Power Systems and is a member of NJIT’s department of electrical and computer engineering industry advisory board. Previously, she was director-engineering at the North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC) for 20 years until her retirement in 2006. Read the new article

Her husband Carl L. Sulzberger, NJ G ’62, is also a Tau Beta Pi member and NJIT alumnus.

On Wednesday, August 19, as part of the Waste Conversion Technology Conference & Tradeshow (WCTC), Thomas A. Costello, Ph.D., P.E. (MO A ’80), will give a talk entitled “Swine Waste as Irrigation and Nutrient Source for Periphytic Algae Production.” Dr. Costello is an associate professor at the University of Arkansas in the department of biological & agricultural engineering.
