TBP Alumni in the News (August 2015)

Florida Today is reporting that Apollo astronaut Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin, MA B ’62, is in the final stages of negotiations to lead the new studies on space exploration at the Florida Institute of Technology. The news came this week when Florida Tech President said, “Aldrin will be a research professor of aeronautics, and we’re going to establish the Buzz Aldrin Institute.” Read the article for more information

According to the Saint Louis University Athletics website, Adnan Gabeljic, MO E 2014, is currently playing professionally with the Sacramento Republic of the USL and has scored five goals this season. Previously, Gabeljic spent time playing professionally in Croatia. Mark R. Matsumoto, Ph.D. (CA AB ’77), has been named dean of the School of Engineering at the University of California, Merced. He will begin his new position on September 1, 2015. Currently, Dr. Matsumoto is associate dean for research and graduate education at UC Riverside, where he also serves an an engineering professor. He has spent 21 years at UC Riverside and held multiple positions within the Bourns College of Engineering.
