The University of Notre Dame College of Engineering recently profiled three engineering students for being recognized by Tau Beta Pi. Recent graduate Ashley A. Armstrong, IN G 2015, was selected as one of five 2015 TBP Laureates for her achievements in athletics. She is the third TBP Laureate from Notre Dame in the past five years.
In addition, two current undergraduates were selected as 2015 TBP Scholars. Huili Chen, IN G 2016, is a double major in computer science and psychology and was recently named a 2016 Reilly Scholar. Adam D. Farchone, IN G 2016, is pursuing a degree in chemical and biomolecular engineering, is president of the Engineering Honors Program and the IN G Chapter of TBP, and is a member of the Fighting Irish Band. David S. Weiss, Ph.D. (PA A ’65), has been appointed as advanced research director of Molecular Glasses Inc. The newly formed Deleware corporation has been established by Molaire Consulting LLC and is a “technology company initially focused on the development and commercialization of novel Organic Light Emitting Diode materials.”
Dr. Weiss is a senior scientist in the department of chemical engineering at the University of Rochester (NY). According to the press release, he retired as a scientist fellow from the Eastman Kodak Company in 2009 and his research focuses on electrophotographic technologies with emphasis on organic photoreceptors and other organic-based devices.

Erika A. Allen, WV A 2016, and Melissa L. Morris, Ph.D. (WV A ’06), were recently recognized by the West Virginia University College of Engineering and Mineral Resources. Allen was named a 2015 TBP Scholar. She is majoring in chemical engineering and serves as WV A Chapter president.
Dr. Morris has been named a Tau Beta Pi District (4) Director. In addition, she already serves as chief advisor to the WV A Chapter. Click here to read the article
