Ruba T. Borno, Ph.D. (NC D ’02), was recently selected and profiled as one of “the top professionals 35 and under” in enterprise technology as chosen by LinkedIn. Dr. Borno joined Cisco in June 2015 as vice president, growth initiatives and chief of Staff to the CEO. In the article, she says “she’ll be focusing on Cisco’s investment and technology strategies, while helping to shape the agenda of new CEO Chuck Robbins.”
Dr. Borno earned her bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and her master’s and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan.

Montana State University (MSU) recently announced a posthumous gift from alumnus Wilhelm “Bill” L. Wurst, MT A ’59. The gift will be used by the MSU College of Engineering as matching funds for the university’s planned Norm Asbjornson Innovation Center. Wurst graduated from MSU in 1959 with a degree in electrical engineering. He had a 30-year career with Hewlett Packard beginning as a development engineer and later as the general manager for the Network Measurements Division. During his lifetime, Wurst supported engineering and MSU through scholarships and matching funds.

Two new partners in the intellectual property practice of Troutman Sanders LLP have been announced in the San Diego, CA, office. Justin M. Barnes, CA W ’98, is one of the new partners.
