Jordan M. Dobrich, NV A 2016, was recently inducted into the 2015 National Football Foundation (NFF) National Scholar-Athlete Class, earning an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship, and is a finalist for the 2015 William V. Campbell Trophy. Dobrich is a senior at the University of Nevada, Reno, majoring in mechanical engineering, and plays as a linebacker on the Wolf Pack football team. He is a three-year football team captain, one of 12 student-athletes to be named to the NFF’s National Scholar-Athlete Class, and the first player in program history to earn the distinction. Dobrich hopes to do postgraduate studies in petroleum engineering and will attend the 58th NFF Annual Awards Dinner on December 8 where one scholar-athlete will be declared the winner of the 26th William V. Campbell Trophy, the most prestigious football scholar-athlete award.

At this year’s Tau Beta Pi Convention, Thursday’s nights banquet was renamed the Laureate Recognition Banquet in honor of the five 2015 Association Laureates. All but one of the Laureates was able to attend this year’s banquet. David M. Zoltowski, MI A ’15, is currently studying at the University of Cambridge and was unable to attend.

In October, senior offensive lineman Justin D. Northern, CA R 2016, was profiled as the National Football Foundation (NFF) Scholar-Athlete of the Day. Northern is majoring in mechanical engineering at California State University, Fresno and plans to pursue a postgraduate degree in Thermodynamics.
His accolades include being a two-time Academic All-District selection and three-time Mountain West Scholar Athlete Award winner. He is also active in community service having volunteered for the APE Power Walking Challenge, the Law Enforcement Special Olympics Torch Run, and for the After School and Recreation Program and Fresno State Cupboard, a food security project on campus.
