ARCS Scholar, Academic All-Americans, & Chapter 5k (November 2015)

Carol C. Young, NY G 2010, has been selected as a 2015-16 ARCE Scholar. Young was awarded the Cooley Award from the Cooley Family Foundation during the ARCS Atlanta Chapter Scholar Awards Luncheon. She has received the Cooley Award consecutively for four years and is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Georgia Tech pursuing a degree in robotic engineering.

Young plans to apply her degree to sea or space exploration and is working on research goals that include a framework for autonomous water vehicles interacting in a close and safe manor with human swimmers. Her bachelor’s degree is in aeronautical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (NY). Read the announcement for more details.

Two Tau Bates were recently selected for the 2015-16 Capital One Academic All-America® Division III men’s soccer teams. Click here for the All-America Division III first, second, and third men’s soccer teams.

Richard D. LanderNY S 2017, a mechanical engineering junior at Alfred University and second team All-American; he leads the soccer team this year in goals, assists, and total points. He is also a two-time Empire 8 Conference all-star.

Tyler R. ZimmermanDC B 2016, a senior biomedical engineering major at The Catholic University of America and third team All-American; he is a four-year letterman as a midfielder on the soccer team, two-time first team all-conference player, and recently initiated into the Tau Beta Pi DC Beta Chapter.

The Ohio Gamma Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, at The Ohio State University, is hosting the annual Beat Michigan 5k on Sunday, November 22.
