The Winston Churchill Foundation of the United States has announced the 2016-17 class of Churchill Scholars. This year 15 students were chosen that “wish to pursue studies in engineering, mathematics or the sciences” at the University of Cambridge (UK). Three of the Scholars are Tau Beta Pi members. Chu Man Chow – (CA A 2016) a senior majoring in chemical engineering at the University of California Berkeley, 2015 TBP Scholar, and will pursue a master’s in advanced chemical engineering.
Kara D. Fong – (CA G 2016) majoring in chemical engineering as a senior at Stanford University, co-chair of the peer-advising program of CA Gamma Chapter of TBP, 2014 Goldwater Scholar, and and will pursue a master’s in materials science and metallurgy at Churchill College.
Jeannie V. Wilkening – (AZ A 2016) senior at the University of Arizona (UA) majoring in chemical engineering, NASA Space Grant winner, and plans to pursue a master’s in each sciences researching sulfur and iron cycling in marshes and climate implications. A second UA student was also selected as a Churchill Scholar, Travis W. Sawyer, who is scheduled to join Tau Beta Pi in April.

On Monday, February 1, the xFair will take place at MIT. The event is a career fair and a tech expo combined. The fair is powered by MIT TechX and the MA Beta Chapter of Tau Beta Pi. Approximately 2000 MIT undergraduate and graduate students will be in attendance. Click here for more information
