Fulbright, Gates Cambridge, & NSF Awardees (April 2016)

Union College has announced two senior recipients of the Fulbright Fellowships. Theodor Di Pauli von Treuheim, NY M 2016, will perform biomedical research in Germany, specifically specializing in spine biomechanics. He will spend one academic year in Europe before entering medical school. Click here for the news announcement.

Pedro P. Vallejo-Ramirez, NY K 2016, has been selected for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship. According to the news article, he is currently a senior studying optical engineering and is the first Gates Cambridge Scholar in University history.

Vallejo-Ramirez will pursue a master’s of philosophy degree while working in the laser analytics group. Afterwards, he plans to pursuer a Ph.D. in engineering at MIT. In 2015, he was named both a Tau Beta Pi Scholar and a Laureate.

The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program has awarded fellowships to three aerospace engineering students from the University of Maryland. Andrew B. Mills, MD B ’15, is one of the recipients. He is currently a master’s student at the University of Colorado Boulder. Read the news story for more information.
