Union College has announced two senior recipients of the Fulbright Fellowships. Theodor Di Pauli von Treuheim, NY M 2016, will perform biomedical research in Germany, specifically specializing in spine biomechanics. Pedro P. Vallejo-Ramirez, NY K 2016, has been selected for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship. According to the news article, he is currently a senior studying optical engineering and is the first Gates Cambridge Scholar in University history.
Vallejo-Ramirez will pursue a master’s of philosophy degree while working in the laser analytics group. Afterwards, he plans to pursuer a Ph.D. in engineering at MIT. In 2015, he was named both a Tau Beta Pi Scholar and a Laureate.

The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program has awarded fellowships to three aerospace engineering students from the University of Maryland. Andrew B. Mills, MD B ’15, is one of the recipients. He is currently a master’s student at the University of Colorado Boulder. Read the news story for more information.
