Henry L. Dorkin, Ph.D. (PA A ’70), has been elected as the president-elect of the Massachusetts Medical Society. According to the news article, Dr. Dorkin “will serve a one-year term as one of the three top officers of the society, a statewide professional association of physicians with more than 25,000 members.” Currently, he is clinical chief of the Division of Respiratory Diseases, director of the Pulmonary Clinical Research Program, co-director of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Clinical Center, and co-director of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Therapeutic Development Center, all at Boston Children’s Hospital.
Clarkson University (NY) has honored five faculty members “for their excellence in the classroom and dedication to mentoring students.” Associate professor of chemical & biomolecular engineering Sitaraman Krishnan, Ph.D. (NY Q ’03), received the Tau Beta Pi Faculty Award. This award is presented annually by the NY Theta Chapter to a faculty member who has embodied and instilled in students the ideals of integrity and excellence in engineering.
In addition, Kevin B. Fite, Ph.D. (TN B ’97), received the Outstanding Advisor Award. Dr. Fite is an associate professor of mechanical and aeronautical engineering. Read the news article for more details.
