Academic All-American, 2016 Convention Schedule, & Athletics Hall of Fame (June 2016)

Tau Bate Nolan M. Lodden, IN D 2016, has been selected for the 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division I Baseball team. Click here for the All-America Division I first, second, and third baseball teams.

Lodden is a senior electrical engineering major at Valparaiso University and first team All-American. He plays outfield for the varsity baseball team. He is the first Valpo baseball player to receive this honor, named First Team All-Horizon League 2016, and earned a spot on the 2016 All-Tournament team.


The tentative schedule for the 2016 Tau Beta Pi Convention in San Diego, CA, has been posted. Voting delegates assigned to a Convention committee will arrive Wednesday, October 5. General registration will begin Thursday. There will be a welcoming barbecue on Thursday evening for dinner.

Friday is recruiting fair and professional development day. Convention will conclude on Saturday with the “Alumni and Chapter Awards Banquet” followed by dinner on the beach. Credentials were due by June 1 (submit asap) and registration is due by August 1. More information can be found here.


The 2016 Northern Arizona University (NAU) Athletics Hall of Fame Class has been announced. Three individuals will be honored in the fall, including Rikke U. Degn (Pedersen), AZ G ’99. She was a 12-time individual and five-time team Big Sky Champion. She was an NCAA All-American in both cross country and track & field. Degn was an eight-time NCAA finalist and was named the 1999 NCAA Woman of the Year for the state of Arizona.

She graduated with a degree in civil engineering and now works as a senior project manager and investment portfolio manager with Novo Nordisk in Denmark. Click here for more details on the 2016 NAU Hall of Fame class and for more biographical information on Degn.
