The Capital Journal (SD) reports that Thomas M. Corcoran, P.E. (SD A ’83), has been named the 2016 Structural Engineer of they Year by the Structural Engineers Association of Washington (SEAW) Seattle Chapter. According to the article, “the award recognized the SEAW member who has brought positive visibility to the structural engineering profession, has exhibited technical and creative achievement, and has demonstrated commitment to nurturing others in their professional development.”
Corcoran is an owner and serves as principal-in charge of structural engineering at Integrus Architecture, an architectural and engineering firm with offices located in Seattle, WA. He earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology. He is a board member on the SEAW outreach committee aimed at promoting structural engineering to k-12 students, teachers, and parents.

Eric T. Anderson, CT A 2016, was one of eight members of the Yale coed and women’s sailing teams to be named to the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association’s 2015-16 All-Academic Team. Many news outlets are reporting that Bob L. Mansfield, TX A ’82, is set to lead Apple’s electric car initiative called Project Titan. Mansfield most recently worked on special projects at Apple, a division that produced new categories such as the Apple Watch. Previously, he served as senior vice president of technologies at Apple and has also served as senior vice president of hardware engineering. Read the report from Time magazine.
