The Daily Herald (IL) reports that Dorothy Cudia, NY X ’84, has been named vice president of Middleby Automated Solutions, a food service equipment provider. According to the article, her areas of focus include robotics, 3D printing, and autonomous systems.
She brings more than 25 years of experience and has held senior level positions with Nabisco Brands in automation and process control and McDonald’s Corp. in engineering and capital equipment. Her mechanical engineering degree is in mechanical engineering from Manhattan College (NY).

Members of the San Diego Tau Beta Pi Convention group have been working to prepare for the upcoming Convention October 6-8. Len Filomeo, CA M ’74, posted the image below to the TBP District 16 Facebook group. In the picture, Sarah E. Child, CA X ’14, traces a Bent onto one side of the Greater San Diego Alumni Chapter’s A-frame. Convention attendees will see this frame around San Diego signifying a place for Tau Bates to meet.
The projection is being provided by Neal T. Bussett, CA X ’09, an Association District 16 Director and collegiate chapter advisor to the California Xi Chapter at San Diego State University. Childs is currently the chair of the Greater San Diego Alumni Chapter and past vice president of California Xi collegiate chapter.

Rebecca A. Forbes, TN G ’12, has been named an emerging leader for the Manufacturing Institute’s Science, Technology, Engineering, and Production (STEP) Ahead Initiative. Forbes is an engineer with BWX Technologies. “The program identifies women in manufacturing industries who are making a difference through advocacy, mentorship and leadership.”
She graduated from Tennessee Technological University with a degree in mechanical engineering. Read the article for more biographical information on Forbes, who also volunteers with Women in Manufacturing STEM mentoring and United Way. “I’ve always loved to volunteer. It’s something my parents taught me at a young age, just to give back,” said Forbes.
