Aerospace Engineer, Dept. Chair Opening, & Alumni Events (Sept. 2016)

In anticipation of the Black Enterprise’s TechConneXt Technology Summit: The Intersection of Innovation and Opportunity on October 10-11 in San Francisco, CA, Mary Spio, NY B ’98, was profiled. She is an aerospace engineer and founder of Ceek VR Inc., a platform that brings social events to life through virtual reality.

Spio earner her bachelor’s in electrical engineering from Syracuse University and her master’s in electrical engineering and computer science from Georgia Tech. She is the recipient of the prestigious Yueh-Ying Hu Memorial National Award for Innovation, the Boeing Outstanding Achievement in Electrical Engineering Award, and is an accomplished author. According to a job listing from The Chronicle of Higher Education, Lawrence Technological University seeks a professor and chair of the department of electrical and computer engineering. Lawrence is located in Southfield, Michigan, outside of Detroit. A Ph.D. in electrical or computer engineering or a closely related field is required as well as credentials commensurate with appointment as a full professor with tenure.

The position is available July 1, 2017. Applications will be reviewed beginning November 1, 2016 and will be accepted until the position is filled.
