In 2016, he received the Association of United States Army’s Army ROTC Cadet of the Year Award. His goal is to be selected for the Army Aviation Corps.

His father, David A. Dykes, MS B ’86, won the Hughes Trophy Award in 1986 as the top Army ROTC cadet in the nation while completing his chemical engineering degree.
