Iowa State University College of Engineering has announced that Kate A. Krezowski, IA A 2016, will serve as the COE Student Marshall during the fall 2016 commencement ceremony. Krezowski is graduating with a degree in civil engineering. Her activities outside of the classroom include: working for the Center of Inter-American Studies in Ecuador, cooking for the Dorothy Day homeless shelter in Minnesota, and working a co-op for Braun Intertec.

David W. Baker, Ph.D. (WV A ’76), was recently elected to the leadership position of Treasurer of Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Honor Society. Dr. Baker will serve in this role through June 30, 2018. Currently, he is a senior vice president of field services at AT&T/ DirecTV.

Four graduates from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, (UNLV) will be recognized by President Len Jessup for their academic and research excellence as 2016 Winter Outstanding Graduates. Among those to be honored is Tyler P. Stalbaum, Ph.D. (NV B ’10), who has earned his doctorate in mechanical engineering.
According to the news article, he co-authored two book chapters, interned at a U.S. National lab, and earned research awards from NASA and the Office of Naval Research. Through all this he has continued to be an active member of the Nevada Beta Chapter of Tau Beta Pi and to maintain a 4.0 GPA. He plans to fulfill his dream of becoming a college professor. Dr. Stalbaum will begin teaching at UNLV in Spring 2017.
