CUA Dean, WEPAN Awards, TBP Detroit Mercy (June 2017)

Earlier this month, John A. Judge, Ph.D., began serving as the dean of the School of Engineering at The Catholic University of America (DC). Dr. Judge was previously a professor and associate dean of the engineering school. He replaces Charles C. Nguyen, D.Sc. (DC B ’82), who served as dean since 2001. Dr. Nguyen also serves as chief advisor to the DC Beta Chapter of Tau Beta Pi.

On June 13, the Women in Engineering ProActive Network (WEPAN) announced its 2017 Award Winners at the WEPAN 2017 Change Leader Forum in Westminster, CO. At least two recipients are Tau Beta Pi members:

Lakshmi Nathan – (TX D ’13) was awarded the WEPAN Women in Engineering Initiative Award for serving as a model for other institutions. She is a Ph.D. student and president of the chemical & biomolecular engineering graduate women’s group and accepted the award on behalf of the program.

Stephanie G. Adams, Ph.D. – (NE A ’89) received the WEPAN Founders Award for enduring, long-term service that epitomizes the spirit of the WEPAN Founders and contributes to the continued advancement of WEPAN. Dr. Adams is Dean, Batten College of Engineering & Technology, at Old Dominion University.

The College of Engineering & Science at the University of Detroit Mercy profiled the seven new members of the Tau Beta Pi Michigan Delta Chapter. The spring initiation took place on March 24, 2017, with four juniors and three seniors being inducted.
