Ten finalists have been named for the Mr. and Ms. Mountaineer 2017, an award that recognizes West Virginia University (WVU) students for exemplary academic achievement and extracurricular involvement. The winners will be named on Saturday, October 28, during the WVU football game. Four of the finalists are Tau Beta Pi members, including:
Megan L. Barthelmess – (WV A 2018) senior industrial engineering, WVU Alpha Pi Mu president, & hip hop dance team member
Tanner M. Filben – (WV A 2018) biomedical engineering major, 2017-18 TBP Scholar, & Neural Engineering Lab researcher
Ahmed Abdul Haque – (WV A 2018) majoring in chemical engineering, WVU Engineers Without Borders president, & tutor
Morgan E. King – (WV A 2018) civil & environmental engineering major, 2017-18 TBP Scholar, & WVU Residence Hall Association president 2015-17
