NC State Marshall Scholar, Academic All-American, & Student Profile (December 2017)

Kobi Felton, NC A 2018, is one of 43 recipients of a 2018 Marshall Scholarship. He plans to study for an MPhil in chemical engineering and biotechnology at the University of Cambridge and an MRes in nanomaterials at Imperial College London. He is currently majoring in chemical and biomolecular engineering at North Carolina State University (NC State).

One Tau Bate was recently selected for the 2017-18 Academic All-America® College Division soccer teams. Click here for the full list of men’s and women’s All-America College Division first and second teams.

Mateusz GibiecMI H 2018, a senior computer engineering major at Lawrence Technological University and second team All-American; he is a forward on the soccer team with four goals and four assists this season. Gibiec earned CoSida First Team Academic All-America honors as a sophomore, is the first Lawrence Tech student-athlete to earn first and second team Academic All-America honors, and maintains a 3.96 GPA.

Florida State University News profiled Tara N. Palin, FL H 2018, as a first-generation college student excelling in her major of chemical and biomedical engineering. According to the article, she recently was awarded an endowment to conduct research on Alzheimer’s disease at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory.

Palin joined Tau Beta Pi in 2015 and says, “My involvement in academic and honors programs has added to my college success because being involved in different organizations helps us find what we are passionate about and connects us with people who push us to be the best versions of ourselves.” She is also involved as a role model for younger students in her major and is an active volunteer in community projects.
