TBP Scholarships, Tau Beta Pi Day plans, & City Engineer (January 2018)

For the 20th year, Tau Beta Pi will award and recognize members in support of their senior year of undergraduate study. Applications for this year’s TBP Scholarship Program are now available. The deadline to complete the application and have your recommendations sent in is April 1, 2018.

The Association awards scholarships on the basis of academic achievement, extracurricular activities, and the promise of substantial contributions to the engineering profession. Recipients will be announced in July. Click here for the info sheet with more details. A reminder that the deadline for TBP Fellowships is quickly approaching: February 1, 2018.

The fifth annual Tau Beta Pi Day is roughly seven weeks away on March 14, 2018 (3.14.18). We’d like to share your planned activities with others in your area. Contact TBP HQ and let us know what you and your chapter will be doing.

Nathan C. Crater, P.E. (OR G ’02), has been promoted to City Engineer for the City of Astoria (Oregon). He has been the assistant city engineer for the past six years. Read the news announcement for more details. Crater received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Portland.
