The Maryland Delta Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, is hosting its annual week of activities to celebrate Engineer’s Week 2018 (Feb. 18-24). The kick-off event is a networking reception for faculty, students, and those in industry.
Announcements on other events will be made on MD Delta’s website. The t-shirt design for E-Week 2018 has been revealed and a reservation form is available. This year’s theme is “Inspiring Wonder.”

Bill S. Hammack, Ph.D. (MI B ’84), is a professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the “Engineer Guy.” He creates videos to explore the technological world.
Dr. Hammack spent time as a U.S. Diplomat working as a senior science adviser at the Department of State. He “focuses on explaining engineering and technology to the general public (with the goal) to enhance engineering awareness.” His newest video reveals the operation and engineering design underlying the famous drinking bird toy.
