BEYA Winners, SDSU BBQ, & VP for Research (February 2018)

Charles T. Johnson-Bey, Ph.D. (DE A ’93), was awarded the 2018 Black Engineer of the Year Award (BEYA) for Career Achievement in industry. Dr. Johnson-Bey is director, engineering and technology, Cyber Center for Excellence at Lockheed Martin.

Terri R. Norton, Ph.D. (FL H ’02), was awarded the Educational Leadership College-level Promotion of Education award. Dr. Norton is an associate professor of engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Click here for a full list of 2018 BEYA Winners.

Ohio State University (OSU) has announced that Randy L. Moses, Ph.D. (VA B ’79), will serve as interim senior vice president for research, effective January 1, 2018. Currently, Dr. Moses is senior associate vice president for research and professor of electrical and computer engineering at OSU.

A national search for a new senior vice president will be conducted. David B. Williams, Ph.D. (OH G ’70), dean of the College of Engineering and executive dean of the professional colleges, will chair the search advisory committee.
