The 2018 Tau Beta Pi Convention will elect three members to serve on the Executive Council (EC). Members interested in serving on the EC must be nominated by a chapter—either collegiate or alumni—by April 1.

Benjamin M. Blazek, CA L ’08, was recently recognized as an agency winner for the 2018 Federal Engineer of the Year Awards. He is an aeronautical and mechanical engineer at Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division.
Blazek earned his bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from the University of California, Davis. Read news article for details on his work developing a method to model, simulate, and test a developmental missile system for an Insensitive Munitions Fragment Impact test.

On February 16-17, the University of South Florida’s College of Engineering hosted the 2018 Engineering Expo. This year more than 10,000 K-12 students from the Tampa Bay area attended to participate in hands-on activities aimed at increasing interest in STEM careers.
