SDSU Profile, Columbia Valedictorian, & TN Alpha Initiation (April 2018)

The mechanical engineering department at San Diego State University recently profiled Brianna B. Manns, CA X 2018, graduating in May 2018. She was an awarded scholar athlete for the two years on the Div. I women’s lacrosse team at SDSU.

Manns serves as CA X Chapter recording secretary and has accepted an offer to work as an airworthiness systems engineer at General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc., upon graduation. Click here to read the full profile.

The Columbia Spectator reports that Michael C. Tong, NY A 2018, and Rajat Chandra, NY A 2018, have been named the SEAS valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively at Columbia University.

According to the article, the pair were chosen by faculty in the committee on honors, awards, and prizes for their academic achievements. Tong will give a speech during the SEAS Class Day celebration in mid-May. Both are graduating: Tong majoring in computer science and will work at Jane Street; and Chandra majoring in chemical engineering and will work at Roivant Sciences.

On April 12, the Tennessee Alpha Chapter, at the University of Tennessee Knoxville, hosted its spring initiation. A total of 25 new members joined Tau Beta Pi. Karnauch, TN A 2018, who is also a student employee at TBP Headquarters.
