History was made at this year’s Florida International University (FIU) spring commencement. A service dog, Kali, was recognized by FIU’s disability resource center with a certificate of completion. Kali’s owner is graduate Tiffany Ascanio, FL Q 2018, who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

Rachel F. Bellisle, RI B 2018, will graduate on May 20 from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in biomedical engineering. She was one of only 25 students accepted into the medical engineering and medical physics program at Harvard-MIT health sciences and technology where she will pursue a Ph.D.
Bellisle was recently named a 2018 TBP Fellow and served as RI Beta Chapter recording secretary. Read the article for information on her internships and her graduate funding from Draper Laboratories.
