The California Gamma Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, at Stanford University, will host its annual Distinguished Speaker Series on Thursday, May 24. This year’s speaker is Doug Leone, global managing partner at Sequoia Capital. Leone has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Cornell University and pioneered Sequoia’s expansion into the global market.

Susamma “Susan” Barua, Ph.D., has been appointed as dean of California State, Fullerton’s dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science, effective June 1. According to the news article, Dr. Barua has served as interim dean since July 2016.
She holds a Ph.D. in computer engineering from the University of Cincinnati and spent 11 years as coordinator of the computer engineering program.
