The Soyuz rocket will launch Wednesday, June 6, for the International Space Station with three astronauts on-board, including Serena Auñón-Chancellor, MD (DC G ’97). Dr. Auñón-Chancellor is a rookie space flier and former flight surgeon.
Her alma mater George Washington University (GW) is hosting a livestream of the launch and celebration. Click here for details and a description of the event. Dr. Auñón-Chancellor earned her bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from GW and will be conducting medical experiments among other responsibilities while at the Space Station.

The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) has announced the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Men’s Track/Cross Country teams, including Division I, II, III, and college division. All First Team Academic All-District selections advance to the national Capital One Academic All-American ballot.
