SNMMI President-Elect, MSU Assistant Dean, & USPTO Post-Grant Webcast (June 2018)

Vasken Dilsizian, MD (MA D ’77), is president-elect of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging. The new slate of officers was announced during the Society’s Annual Meeting June 23-26 in Philadelphia, PA.

Dr. Dilsizian is professor of radiology and medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and chief of the Division of Nuclear Medicine at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemical engineering from Tufts University. Click here to read the news announcement.

Congratulations to Katy Luchini Colbry, Ph.D. (MI A ’99), on being named assistant dean for graduate student services in the College of Engineering at Michigan State University. Dr. Colbry will work on student recruiting, mentoring, growing graduate student resources, fellowship administration, and other day-to-day aspects of of the college.

Dr. Colbry is an alumna of MSU, and earned Ph.D. and MSE degrees in computer science and engineering from the University of Michigan. She returned to MSU in 2008. She is the incoming chairperson of the graduate studies division of ASEE, director of the Engineering Futures Program of Tau Beta Pi, and chief advisor to the TBP Michigan Alpha Chapter. The Knowledge Group/The Knowledge Congress Live Webcast Series has announced that Britton F. Davis, CA S ’00, counsel, King & Spalding LLP will speak at the Knowledge Group’s webcast entitled: USPTO Post-Grant Proceedings: Significant Court Decisions Explored! This event is scheduled for Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 10:00am to 12:00pm (ET).

Davis is a trial attorney “who focuses on patent disputes in high-stakes litigation involving complex technologies in U.S. district court and before the PTAB.” His undergraduate degree is in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
