Oregon Tech Bent, ME at Angelo State Univ., & SWE Spark Award (Oct. 2018)

Trevor S. Lundsten, OR D 2019, posted an image to his Instagram account of the Bent monument on the Oregon Institute of Technology campus after it was decorated for Halloween. Lundsten is the OR Delta Chapter president of Tau Beta Pi and a civil engineering major.

The San Angelo Standard-Times (TX) reports that Angelo State University (ASU) has received final approval to open its bachelor of science in mechanical engineering degree program this fall. Read the article for more information.

“This is a major milestone in our goal of making ASU a premier destination for undergraduate engineering in Texas,” William A. Klitch, Ph.D., P.E. (IL A ’82), chair of the engineering department, said in an ASU news release. Dr. Kitch earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and joined ASU in 2015 after being a professor at Cal Poly Pomona.

Anne E. McLaren, Ph.D. (IN A ’01) – technical advisor and reliability engineer, received the Spark Award, given to women who excel at mentoring women around them. Dr. McLaren has been involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters for over a decade. Her B.S., M.S., and Ph.D., degrees are from Purdue University in industrial and reliability engineering, respectively.
