The Association would like to recognize the excellent work and commitment of retiring chief advisor Harwood “Hardy” Hegna, Ph.D., P.E. (MN A ’69), at Cedarville University. Dr. Hegna has served for 19 years as the Ohio Nu Chief Advisor of Tau Beta Pi.

He recently stepped down as a full-time faculty member at Cedarville and is now Professor Emeritus of mechanical engineering. Tau Beta Pi appreciates Dr. Hegna and all he has done leading our collegiate chapter and guiding its student members.

Andrew S. Katz, LA B ’09, was recently selected as a 2019 recipient of the K. Patricia Cross Future Leaders Award. The honor is given to “graduate students whose work reflects a strong emphasis on teaching and learning, and who are planning a career in higher education.”

Katz is a Ph.D. student at Purdue University studying engineering education. He earned his bachelor’s degree in chemical and biomolecular engineering from Tulane University.

The California Psi Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, at the University of California San Diego (UCSD), is hosting a panel on Monday, February 4th. The event is entitled: “Paths to PhD: Q&A Panel.”

In addition to a selection of four panelists from academia and industry, Takeda Pharmaceuticals California will be present to provide information to those interested in the pharmaceutical industry. RSVP here as seating is limited. Also, be sure to bring your questions for the panelists.
