The sixth annual Tau Beta Pi Day was a huge success thanks to our awesome Tau Bates! There was local news coverage at several events. Some great videos and images as well. Darrell J. Volney, P.E. (WV B ’91) has been inducted into the West Virginia University Institute of Technology Athletic Hall of Fame. He graduated from WV Tech with a degree in civil engineering and was a member of the baseball team. His accomplishments include being voted the NAIA District 28 Player of the Year, West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Hitter of the Year, and receiving 1990 All-West Virginia Conference team honors.

In February, Clemson University hosted 138 second-grade students for an Engineering Expo. Activities such as paper airplanes and shot straws were aimed at introducing the youngsters to the STEM fields.
The successful event was a joint effort of 12 organizations on campus, and according to the news article the South Carolina Alpha Chapter of Tau Beta Pi was key to “making this event happen.”
