TBP Grad Regalia, Rick Vinci 52, & UD Associate Dean (March 2019)

The California Kappa Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, at California State University, Northridge, posted the image below to their Instagram account encouraging members to pick up their graduation regalia. To see all TBP offerings, visit our store.


The Association is mourning this week along with the Lehigh community over the loss of Rick Vinci at the age of 52. Dr. Vinci, PA A ’88, was a professor of materials science and engineering at Lehigh University.

He lost his battle with Lou Gehrig’s disease. He previously served as a chief advisor to the Pennsylvania Alpha Chapter of Tau Beta Pi and joined as an eminent engineer in 1999. Read more about his legacy and plans to create a teaching award in his name.


David C. Martin, Ph.D. (MI G ’83), is now an associate dean for research and entrepreneurship in the College of Engineering at the University of Delaware (UD). He began this new position on February 1, 2019.

Dr. Martin is also a professor of materials science and engineering. According to the announcement, he was instrumental in the development of important central research infrastructure at UD and is a prolific researcher.
