Water Facility Tour, FSU Student-Star, & AIChE Programming Award (April 2019)

The Greater San Diego Alumni Chapter of Tau Beta Pi recently hosted a tour at the North City Pure Water Demonstration Facility. A local student from California State University San Marcos attended and posted images to his LinkedIn account. See below for the group image.

Christopher R. Reis, FL H 2019, was profiled as a student star by Florida State University. He is graduating this May with a degree in mechanical engineering.

Reis grew up on the island of Trinidad and Tobago, performs research at the Applied Superconductivity Center, and plans to pursue a Ph.D. in nuclear science and engineering. Click here to read the article and to watch a video of his interview.

Arizona State University assistant professor Julianne L. Holloway, Ph.D. (PA Z ’08), is being honored with the AIChE Herb Epstein Award for Technical Planning. Dr. Holloway is being recognized for organizing a one-day symposium to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the AIChE Women’s Initiative Committee.

According to the article, the event highlighted the significant contributions of women to chemical engineering and featured more than 20 female speakers. Dr. Holloway’s engineering bachelor’s degree was earned at Drexel University.
