PVAMU Image, Female Athlete of the Year, & Fresno Profile (May ’19)

The Texas Kappa Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, at Prairie View A&M University, recently hosted its 2019 “Membership Banquet.” See the image below posted to the chapter’s Instagram account.


Emily H. Oliver, VT B 2019, collected top honors at this year’s annual Senior Athlete Recognition Dinner at Norwich University. Oliver is a three-sport standout (basketball, softball, & volleyball) and was captain of all three teams as a senior in mechanical engineering.

She received the Female Athlete of the Year and the Locke Award for the senior that distinguishes themselves athletically and academically. Oliver also recently won the Student Engineer of the Year Award, from the Vermont Society of Engineers. She is a past Vermont Beta Chapter vice president. Read the article for more details.


A recent news article from the Fresno State News, profiled senior electrical engineering student Elias J. Karam, CA R 2019. He is set to graduate later this month with his bachelor’s degree.

Karam explains that being active on campus in student organizations helped develop relationships and his own leaderships skills that are essential to who he is today. His future plans include space exploration in part thanks to a summer internship he completed at Northrup Grumman.
