Austin J. Garrabrant, TN G ’16, recently graduated with his master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech University. His sister, Katie A. Garrabrant (TN Z ’18), posted the image below after his graduation.
Katie graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a degree in engineering, is a post-bachelor’s researcher at ORNL, and will begin her Ph.D. program at the Medical University of South Carolina.

The Missouri University of Science and Technology has appointed Mohammad Dehghani, Ph.D., P.E (OH D ’80), as its next Chancellor. Dr. Dehghani is vice provost for research, innovation and entrepreneurship at Stevens Institute of Technology and will begin his new position on August 1, 2019.
Read the announcement for more biographical details on Dr. Dehghani who has spent the past 22 years in executive positions at prominent universities and national labs. He joined Tau Beta Pi as an eminent engineer in 1993 while at Ohio University as a tenured faculty member in mechanical engineering.
