Sarah L. Perry, Ph.D. (AZ A ’02), and a collaborator published recent findings in ACS Central Science, that allows “scientists to quickly and accurately predict how the polymer will act and will help them design new materials using specific charge sequences.”

Dr. Perry is an assistant professor at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and serves as an advisor to the MA Zeta Chapter of Tau Beta Pi. Read the news article for more information on her research and the potential for engineering new materials out of synthetic polymers.

The University of Notre Dame recently profiled the 2019 salutatorian Annelise M. Gill-Wiehl, IN G 2019, as she graduates with a degree in environmental engineering.

According to the story, Gill-Wiehl developed a pilot project that aims to improve respiratory health in the developing world. She was awarded the College of Engineering’s Steiner Award for excellence and commitment to engineering and the common good. She will pursue a doctorate in energy resources at the University of California, Berkeley.
