Joseph C. Slater, Ph.D., P.E. (NY N ’89), has been appointed the position of Dean of the College of Engineering at Tennessee Technological University. Dr. Slater served on the faculty for 26 years at Wright State University, most recently serving as chair of the department of mechanical and materials engineering, and as an associate dean.
His bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering is from the University at Buffalo. Click here to read more as he begins this new position on July 1.

The Middlesex County (CT) Chamber of Commerce has announced the 2019 recipients of its Distinguished Citizen Award, including Geoffrey L. Jacobson, P.E. (NY Q ’76), president, treasurer and principal engineer at Nathan L. Jacobson & Associates.
His work includes coordination and quality control of municipal engineering services to numerous clients throughout Connecticut and New York. Read the news article for more details on his philanthropic efforts throughout Middlesex County.
