For the second consecutive year, Simon T. Whiteman, CT A 2019, has been named a Google Cloud Academic All-American® for NCAA Division I Baseball.
Whiteman is a chemical engineering graduate from Yale University and first team All-American; he is an infielder on the baseball team. He was recently drafted in the ninth round of the MLB Draft by the San Francisco Giants, led the Ivy League in stolen bases (34) without being caught, and is interested in solar energy and photovoltaics.

George Washington University has named John Lach, Ph.D., as the new school of engineering and applied science dean. Dr. Lach is currently a professor of electrical and computer engineering at the University of Virginia. He will start his new position on August 15.
