Anette M. Karlsson, Ph.D. (OH E ’89), has been named Chancellor of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s campus in Prescott, Arizona. Since 2012, Dr. Karlsson has served as dean and professor of the College of Engineering at Cleveland State University.
According to the announcement, her research interests focus on thermo-mechanical properties of advanced materials with an emphasis on the durability of materials used in clean energy production. She earned her Ph.D. in mechanical and aerospace engineering at Rutgers University.

The 2018-19 Academic All-America® Division III Men’s At-Large Team has been announced. Jack G. Bauer, MA A 2019, completed his collegiate career with a second consecutive first team Academic All-America selection.
The recent chemical engineering grad from Worcester Polytechnic Institute earned silver in 100-yard backstroke and bronze in 200-yard backstroke at 2019 NCAA Division III Championships. Bauer is a seven-time CSCAA All-America swimmer. Read more here.

The Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (OH) announced that Carl P. Tilmann, Ph.D., (IN E ’87), has been named a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). Dr. Tilmann is a principal scientist with the Air Force Research Laboratory Aerospace Systems Directorate, aerospace vehicles division.
He was recognized for “exceptional engineering achievements and contributions to the engineering profession.” Dr. Tilmann is a leader in aerospace vehicle technologies, published seven journal articles, and earned his bachelor’s degree from Trine University.
