Tulane Tau Bates On Twitter

From time to time Twitter surprises with a great picture, post, or presentation. In this case, LA Beta at Tulane University in District 10, grabbed the spotlight with a photo tweeted by Chief Advisor Nicholas Sandoval, Ph.D. (CO Beta ’06), and keep up the good work! Thanks for the @TauBetaPi shout out, @sandoval !

Carl Kirpes (IA Alpha ’12) was recently featured in the Problem Solved Podcast produced by IISE. Since his initiation in 2010, Kirpes has received these awards and honors from Tau Beta Pi: 2011 Campbell Scholar, 2012 Laureate For Diverse Achievements, and 2013 Fife Fellow.
The theme of the podcast episode, the road from student to professional, gave Kirpes the chance to reflect on his journey and the positive influence he received from student organizations during his collegiate years including Tau Beta Pi. While at Iowa State, Kirpes was part of the University Honors Program, Alpha Lambda Delta, and Phi Eta
Sigma.
At the 18 minute mark in the podcast, Kirpes talks about how student organizations shaped him. If you are interested in listening or sharing the podcast with other Tau Beta Pi members, it can be accessed here: https://podcast.iise.org/episodes/the-road-from-student-to-professional-with-carl-kirpes.

How can I best use Instagram | Twitter | Event Calendars | Facebook| LinkedIn | Emails | Blog Posts to keep our Chapter Members informed and updated?
Sometimes the best way to improve your communication skills is to see what best captures your attention and work that into your social media plan and communication calendar.

Today, in this blog, the trending topics for upping your game in Social Media include items to emulate such as the 2 discussed above, a post on Twitter & a Podcast featured on Linked In.
For example, in the photo above is a non-traditional social media post from Arkansas Alpha focusing on a volunteer opportunity for members. This app, GivePulse, allows users to find volunteer and service learning opportunities in their area, track service hours, and stay organized with the GivePulse volunteer management platform.
Recent Instagram posts from Tau Beta Pi Chapters have shown pictures from special events, announcements about upcoming meetings, volunteer hour opportunities, and celebrations over their Convention activities.

Being consistent on the day you post also gives Members a heads up on when to stay alert for news and details about your Chapter activities. At the 2018 Convention, committee members recommended Tuesday for posting. Think of it as Tau Tuesday. Alliteration makes this simple phrase easier to remember – Tau Tuesday – so Members can tune in on Tuesdays for their timely topics. 😉
