Pi Bites: A COVID-19 Video

Spring Term Ends. . . Unexpectedly
You’ve heard the expression. . . March “comes in like a lion, out like a lamb.” Well, try to apply that to your shortened time on campus during Spring Term 2020. So much happened within the span of a few days! In early March, Tau Beta Pi members all across the country had to scramble to complete schoolwork, turn in assignments, go back home, empty dorm rooms, continue classes online, and nearly everyone had to change up graduation plans. The Association, under the guidance of Executive Director Curt D. Gomulinski (MI E ’01) and Director of Rituals Edward J. D’Avignon (NY B ’88) created and began virtual initiations.
To help chapters address the challenges around the country due to the COVID-19 crisis, Curt and the HQ staff prepared various tools to keep chapters operating virtually. All resources are stored in the Chapter Resources Google Site. On this site, you can review the various documents, resources, recordings, and FAQs to assist you in holding a successful virtual initiation.
Headquarters became a ghost town because Knox County, Tennessee, was under Safer-At-Home guidelines. While this pandemic taught us to think on our feet, it also gave us a moment of historical precedence to claim, conquer, and overcome.
