#TBPUnvention2020 Check-In

Even though Tau Beta Pi couldn’t host our Convention in person this year, #TBPUnvention2020 has provided lots of opportunities for networking and professional development. Virtual Unvention events began on October 10 and will continue until November 7.

Rachel earned her B.S. in civil engineering from California State University, Sacramento and now works as an Assistant Editor for the Sacramento County Department of Airports, serving as project manager for several airfield and roadway projects. During her time at CSU, Rachel held positions as social chair and president of her Tau Beta Pi chapter and now serves on the Executive Council as Secretary of the Association.

Joey received a B.S. in computer engineering from the University of California, Davis. He currently works as I.T. Manager for a Sacramento-based data company where he manages a team of IT professionals. Joey worked previously in both K-12 and higher education institutions. He currently serves as the president of the Tau Beta Pi Sacramento Valley Alumni Chapter.

Unvention’s featured speaker Jenna R. Jambeck, Ph.D., FL Alpha ’96, gave an incredible speech at the Unvention’s first Executive Council meeting. Dr. Jambeck is a professor in the College of Engineering at the University of Georgia. She became internationally recognized for her research on oceanic plastic waste after co-creating the Marine Debris Tracker app. Click here to watch!
