Shuttle Atlantis landed Sunday, after a two-day weather delay. The mission to overhaul the Hubble Space Telescope was successful.

Zero Pollution Motors is attempting to market a car, powered by a combination of compressed air and a small conventional engine, to the U.S. by 2011.
However, the new technology has its skeptics. Including James Van de Ven, SD A ’01, who points out that “air compressors allow you to recover only 25 to 30 percent of the energy used to compress the air.”

The winning team at the 2009 Big Bang! Business Plan Competition at UC Davis, UltraV, has a plan for cleaning wastewater with ultraviolet light.
The technology for the plan was developed by Bassam Younis, a professor at UC Davis. There were 19 plans submitted and five finalists.
