Natural Materials Grant, New Alumni Chapters, & NFL Hire (September 2017)

Case Western Reserve University associate professor LaShanda T. Korley, Ph.D. (GA A ’99), is leading a research team developing functional materials inspired by substances found in nature. The team received a grant from the National Science Foundation Partnerships for International Research and Education program to allow for work to be done at CWRU, in Switzerland, and University of Chicago labs.

The Executive Council of Tau Beta Pi has approved two new alumni chapters, they are: the Pioneer Alumni Chapter (based in Oklahoma) and the Orange County Alumni Chapter (based in California). Roger R. VanDerSnick, IN B ’85, has been hired by the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League (NFL) as chief sales and marketing officer. According to the announcement, VanDerSnick has 30 years of experience in the sales and marketing fields and previously served as chief sales and marketing officers of International Management Group College.

He is an Indiana native and graduate of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. From 2000-06, VanDerSnick served as vice president of marketing with NASCAR.
