TBP Outstanding Chapter, Convention Images, & UT Engineers Day (October 2017)

The University of South Alabama (USA) published a press release regarding the Alabama Epsilon Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, at USA, which was named the R.C Matthews Outstanding Chapter for 2016-17 at the recent Tau Beta Pi Convention in Michigan. This is the second time in the past three year’s that AL Epsilon has received the top chapter of the Association award.

The chapter’s great run actually dates back to 2012. In the past six years, the chapter has been named honorable mention four times and won the award twice. According to the release, the chapter participates in K-12 projects, Jubilee Best Robotics and the Mobile Regional Science & Engineering Fair, volunteers with Boys & Girls Clubs, and awards a sophomore scholarship. Chapter president Phiwat Klomkaew, AL E 2018, and the chapter’s chief advisor Sally J. Steadman, Ph.D. (WY A ’69), were on hand to receive the award.
