UA Student Speaker, FAU Outstanding Leader, & ASCE Distinguished Member (May 2018)

On their Instagram account, the University of Arizona College of Engineering posted the below image of Bailey Bellaire, AZ A 2018, as he provided inspiring remarks during the recent da Vinci Circle annual dinner. Bellaire is a graduating biosystems engineering major and Engineering Ambassador.

Océane E. Boulais, FL E 2017, is graduating today cum laude with a degree in electrical engineering. She was profiled by Florida Atlantic University (FAU) for her efforts in tech and other interests and endeavors.

She recently received the faculty award for Outstanding Leadership from the College of Engineering. She plans to attend MIT for graduate school and to conduct research in the Viral Communications Group at the MIT Media Lab. Read the article for more details.

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) announced that Joseph E. Minor, Ph.D., P.E. (TX D ’59) was recently honored with inclusion in its 2018 class of Distinguished Members “for development and adoption of windborne debris impact provisions in building codes and standards, advocating the formal engineering of residential structures, contributions to window glass design practice, and educating the next generation of civil engineers.”

According to the news story, Dr. Minor is an internationally renowned expert in wind engineering and natural hazards research. He spent 18 years on the Texas Tech Univ. faculty and is currently a consulting engineer and part-time instructor at Texas A&M University-Kingsville.
