Chantelle Y.Y. Lim, NY K 2019, was recently awarded the Perdana Scholar Award for academic excellence. This award is given by the Education Malaysia USA and the Embassy of Malaysia. The Perdana Scholar Award aims to identify, document, promote, and award Malaysian students who have excelled in their undergraduate and post-graduate studies in the U.S.
Lim was one of three students to receive the award this year out of more than 8,000 Malaysian students studying in the U.S. She serves as NY Kappa Chapter vice president, majors in biomedical engineering at the University of Rochester, and is also 2018 TBP Scholar.
A recent article from the Jackson Hole, profiled Pat T. Tyrrell, WY A ’79, and announced his plans to retire in early January 2019. Tyrrell is the Wyoming State Engineer, since 2001, and also serves as the chief water official in the state.
He graduated with a B.S. in mechanical engineering and M.S. in civil engineering, both from the University of Wyoming (UW). In 2018, he and his wife Barbara endowed the Patrick and Barbara Tyrrell engineering scholarship, also at UW.
