According to an article from the University of Southern California (USC) Viterbi School of Engineering, Behrokh Khoshnevis, Ph.D. (OH D ’79), has been recognized by Connected World as one of the top 10 Pioneers in the Internet of Things (IoT) for “his contributions in large scale 3-D printing and a concept called telefracturing: the ability to manufacture remotely.”
Dr. Khoshnevis is a professor in the department of industrial and systems engineering at USC. He holds more than 100 U.S. and international patents and says that “construction is the last frontier for automation.” Read the Connected World article featuring Dr. Khoshnevis.

The Omicron Delta Kappa chapter at Clemson University recently announced its spring organization and individual awards. ODK is the national leadership honor society and they host an annual banquet “to recognize outstanding students and organizations in community service, academics, and leadership.”
The South Carolina Alpha Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, at Clemson, is the recipient of the “Clemson University Organization of the Year” award. The chapter also received the “Omicron Delta Kappa President’s Leadership” award. The banquet will take place on April 17. Click here for more information.

Jean Zu, Ph.D., has been selected as the new dean of the School of Engineering & Science at Stevens Institute of Technology (NJ). Currently, Dr. Zu is the chair of the department of mechanical and industrial engineering at the University of Toronto.
