Susan S. Margulies, Ph.D. (NJ D ’82), has been named the chair of the department of biomedical engineering at Georgia Tech and Emory University, and a Georgia Research Alliance Eminent Scholar in injury biomechanics. Dr. Margulies is currently a professor of bioengineering at the University of Pennsylvania and will begin her new appointments on August 1, 2017.
According to the news announcement, her research spans the micro-to-macros scales in traumatic brain injury in children and ventilator-induced lung injury. Dr. Margulies earned her B.S.E. in mechanical and aerospace engineering from Princeton University.
