New TBP Executive Council, Maine Traffic Merger, & UCF MathCounts (Feb. 2019)

Beginning in January 2019, the Executive Council of Tau Beta Pi added three new members and has new leadership. The TBP president is now Wayne B. Paugh, LL.M., JD, (FL G ’93), and the vice president is C. Craig Smith, P.E., (TN E ’80).

The three new Councillors are Rachel K. Alexander, CA U ’15; George J. Morales, Ph.D., FL E ’06; and Russ W. Pierce, WA A ’70. The image above was taken at TBP HQ in February. See the full list of nine TBP EC members along with all officer positions.

Diane W. Morabito, P.E., PTOE (MA Z ’81), has been introduced as the new vice president of traffic engineering at James W. Sewall Company. Most recently Morabito was founder of Maine Traffic Resources.

According to the announcement Morabito and Sewall have won work on the most innovative and extensive traffic engineering and infrastructure rehabilitation project in Maine’s history. Morabito holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

The Florida Delta Chapter at the University of Central Florida recently posted images to their Facebook group regarding a recent Spring 2019 event.

The chapter “had a blast volunteering at the Central Florida MATHCOUNTS competition this past weekend!” Chapter members are already looking forward to next year’s competition, so they can try to solve a few more problems themselves.
